Uninstalling/Reinstalling ANTIfraud

The procedure for uninstalling (removing) and reinstalling ANTIfraud depends on why you are uninstalling the software.

Typically, you would uninstall and reinstall ANTIfraud due to system problems or data corruption, if you wish to install the product in another computer, or if you lose your Master Password.

Unlike most commercial software, ANTIfraud consists of two separate parcels of data: the application and the database. The application is the ANTIfraud program. The database contains your Digital ID™ Vault; all of the data you have entered that is stored in encrypted format in a .db file.

To uninstall and reinstall ANTIfraud in the same computer:

  1. Right-click the ANTIfraud System Tray Icon in the lower right corner of your screen and click Exit. The system will prompt you to indicate that you want to shut down ANTIfraud, thus disabling form filling functionality. Click Yes.

  2.  In the lower left corner of your screen, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

  1. Select iS3 ANTIfraud from the list of programs in the Add or Remove Programs dialog. Click Remove.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts until finished.

  3. Now, reinstall ANTIfraud from the iS3 Web site. Go to http://www.is3.com/ANTIfraudHomeUser.do and click CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD ANTIfraud NOW! If you have already purchased the program, the software will recognize your registration information stored in the ANTIfraud data file, which you did not delete.

To delete the ANTIfraud Data File:

  1. In the lower left corner of your screen, right-click Start and select Explore from the menu that is displayed. The system displays Windows Explorer.

  2. From the Windows Explorer menu bar, at the top of your screen, select Tools. From the Tools menu, select Folder Options....

  3. In the Folder Options dialog, click the View tab. In the Advanced settings group box, make sure that the button labeled Show hidden files and folders is selected (highlighted.)

  1. Click Apply to save your setting. Click OK to close this dialog and return to Windows Explorer.

  2. In Windows Explorer, find your C: drive, labeled Local Disk (C:). In the C: drive, click Documents and Settings.

  3. In the Documents and Settings folder, click the current user folder, labeled with your user name. In the current user folder, click Application Data. In the Application Data folder, click IS3.

  4. In the IS3 folder, click iS3 ANTIfraud. In the iS3 ANTIfraud folder, find the file labeled infocard.db. The path you see displayed in the Address bar of Windows Explorer should look like this C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Application Data\IS3\iS3 ANTIfraud.

  5. Right-click infocard.db and from the menu displayed, click Delete.

  1. Now, you must re-launch ANTIfraud: In the lower left corner of your screen, (left) click Start and select All Programs from the Start menu. From the list of programs, click iS3 ANTIfraud. From the submenu, select Launch ANTIfraud.

  1. The system will prompt you to create a Master Password, just as you did when you first installed ANTIfraud. Once you create a Master Password, you can create your Identity, create your Online Profile and begin to create Web Logins and SafeCards. You will also need to set up your Options again, because all data about you, including your preferences, has been deleted.
