Quick Start

This chapter explains the basic iS3 ANTIfraud features you will need to get up and running quickly.

For detailed information, including a number of advanced features, please refer to the complete Online Help system.

ANTIfraud is designed to enable each user to set up an Identity and then logically expand the information associated with this identity to include an array of Personal and Professional records, attributes and identifiers.

ANTIfraud is organized by sections. A section contains categories, folders, and SafeCards.

ANTIfraud's Main Window

ANTIfraud was designed so that all features are available from the main window, as shown below. The left pane of ANTIfraud is the navigation pane. The bottom part of the navigation pane displays the section buttons. The top part of the navigation pane displays the options available within the open section.

Click on any icon or area in the illustration below for an explanation of its function.

For example, meet user Joe Gwynn:

My Identity contains SafeCards on which are stored Joe's personal information including his Social Security card and driver license, his home address and his business address. When My Identity is open, the ANTIfraud window is divided into two panes. The left pane is for navigation, the right pane is called the form pane. The form pane displays the contents of the SafeCard highlighted in the navigation pane, as shown above. Once you have made some quick setup configurations, your first task in ANTIfraud will be to create an Identity. For details, please see: Creating My Identity

Joe's Electronic Wallet has folders for his Personal and Professional data. In each of these folders are subfolders containing data about his Finances, Banking, Vehicles, etc. When Joe's Electronic Wallet is open, the ANTIfraud window is divided into three panes. The left pane is for navigation, the middle pane, called the list pane, displays the names of the SafeCards in the folder. The right pane, called the preview pane, displays the contents of the selected SafeCard and the folder properties, as shown below. For details, please see: Setting up your Electronic Wallet. Once you have created an Identity, your next task in ANTIfraud will be to create SafeCards in your Electronic Wallet.

Joe's Web Logins section is organized according to categories. His user IDs and passwords for online banking, various shopping sites and e-mail are stored as Web Logins on SafeCards in this section.

When the Web Logins section is open, the ANTIfraud window has three panes. The left pane is for navigation, the middle pane displays all of the Web Logins in the category and the right pane displays the properties of the specific Web Login highlighted, as shown below. For details, please see: Creating Web Logins. Once you have created SafeCards in your Electronic Wallet, your next task in ANTIfraud will be to create Web Logins.

Joe's Online Profiles would store his separate Personal and Professional profiles, and any other profiles he might want to use. This feature enables Joe to specify which address, phone number or credit card to use when filling in online forms. When the Online Profiles section is open, the ANTIfraud window has two panes. The left pane is for navigation, the right pane displays a SafeCard on which is stored data pertaining to the selected Online Profile, as shown below. For details, please see: Creating an Online Profile. Once you have created an Identity and SafeCards in your Electronic Wallet, you can create an Online Profile in ANTIfraud.

 Quick Setup: ANTIfraud Options

The ANTIfraud Options dialog enables you to customize the software and perform some basic "housekeeping" tasks with a few easy selections.

To open the ANTIfraud Options dialog:

  1. From the menu bar at the top of the ANTIfraud Main window, click Tools. From the Tools menu, click Options...

  2. The ANTIfraud Options dialog is displayed. This dialog has four tabs with the following functions:

iS3 ANTIfraud's advanced Phishing protection uses multiple technologies to help detect known and potential Phishing sites. The addresses (URLs) of the latest known Phishing sites are downloaded from multiple databases many times each day, and included in your ANTIfraud updates. In addition, ANTIfraud uses heuristics -analysis of behavior and content- to determine the likelihood that a particular site is UNSAFE. Its unique Anti-Phishing Scoring Engine subjects the Web content in your browser to a set of sequential evaluations intended to identify fraudulent sites. When the score reaches the threshold level, ANTIfraud displays a Phishing Alert indicating that the site you are attempting to visit is potentially fraudulent. You can still access the site, but you are advised not to do so.

Changing Your Master Password

With ANTIfraud, the only information you will need to remember is your Master Password. Each user has his/her own individual Master Password, which opens only that person's records. You might want to change your Master Password from time to time.

If you lose your Master Password, you will lose all data that you have saved in ANTIfraud. There is no back door A back door is a means of access to a computer program that circumvents security mechanisms such as firewalls and network & host IDS.
Sometimes, programmers install a back door in order to access the program for troubleshooting or other purposes. Hackers often detect and exploit back doors in order to install malicious software on a user's computer. In some cases, a worm is designed to take advantage of a back door created by an earlier attack.
Whether installed as an administrative tool or a means of attack, a back door is a security risk, because if one exists, eventually, hackers will find it and use it for malicious purposes.
or other means of access by which iS3, the manufacturer of ANTIfraud, can get into your system. Your data really is locked in a Digital ID™ Vault that only you can open. For this reason, it is recommended that you create a strong password and camouflage it in a handwritten document. For details, please see: Creating a Strong Master Password in the Online Help system.

If you do lose your Master Password, you will need to delete the data file in your computer that holds all of the encrypted personal information you have entered. Then, when you login again, ANTIfraud will behave as though you are logging in for the first time as a new user. For details on this procedure, please see: Uninstalling/Reinstalling ANTIfraud.
