Multiple Users

When you install ANTIfraud once, multiple users can share the software while keeping their data separate, thus maintaining privacy.

Each user has his or her own Digital ID™ Vault. When you attempt to login with your Master Password, any open Digital ID™ Vault belonging to another user will automatically close before the data can be viewed.

To accommodate multiple users of one computer who want to keep their data separate, each user must have his or her own account on that computer. Setting up additional users on a computer is a Windows function, not connected with ANTIfraud. Setup instructions are provided below as a convenience.

To set up an additional account on your computer:

  1. Click Start in the lower right corner of your screen. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.

  2. From the list of Control Panel functions, select User Accounts. In the User Accounts dialog, click Add...

  3. In the Add New User dialog, type in the name of the person for whom you are creating the additional account. If this computer is part of a domain, you will need to type in the domain name,  too.

  4. Click Next and follow the steps in the setup wizard. In the account setup, you will need to configure the levels of permission for the new user(s.) Administrative permission means that the user can access all files on the computer and add/remove software. Limited permissions means that access is restricted. If you are the administrator, you can set these restrictions.

Administrative access does not apply to the personal data each user stores in ANTIfraud. Even if you configure multiple administrators, each individual's Digital ID™ Vault remains inaccessible to others, and can be opened only with that person's Master Password. IMPORTANT: Administrators on your computer can remove the data file that holds ANTIfraud and the stored data, but they cannot read it. For details on removing the database and situations in which you may need to do this, please see: Deleting the ANTIfraud Data File.
